December: zircon, tanzanite, and turquoise

Zircon is a clear crystal that comes in many colors, but blue is the most popular.  Wearing zircon helps with relaxation but also attracts prosperity and wisdom.

Tanzanite is a lavender-blue variety of zoisite and changes color when viewed from different angles.  The name tanzanite comes from Tanzania, where the gemstone is found.  Wear tanzanite to facilitate emotional balance, communication, and creativity.

Turquoise comes in opaque blue-green, green, and blue and is often veined.  A tremendous love for the stone has caused its quick depletion, so genuine turquoise is becoming rarer, and more man-made varieties have become available.  Wear turquoise to stimulate romantic love, bring inner calm, and promote creative expression.

November: citrine and topaz

Citrine is a transparent crystal that comes in yellow to yellowish brown or smoky gray-brown.  Wear citrine to attract wealth, success, and joy.

Topaz, although much more expensive than citrine, is another transparent crystal that comes in a spectrum of colors including golden-yellow, brown, blue, clear, red-pink (rare), and green.  Wear topaz to promote openness, honesty, and wisdom.

October: opal and tourmaline

Opal comes in many colors and they all have a spectacular iridescent quality.  Wear opal to stimulate originality, self-expression, and vision.

Tourmaline also comes in many colors and can easily be mistaken it other gemstones.  Wear tourmaline to attract inspiration, compassion, and prosperity.

September: sapphire

This gem comes in a few color varieties but the most well known is a bright blue. Wear sapphire for calming, focus, and integrity.

August: peridot

Like many other gemstones, good quality peridot is more and more difficult to find.  This gemstone is a beautiful, clear, olive green. Wear peridot to encourage transformation and gratitude.

July: ruby

One of the most well-known (and expensive) gems in the world, rubies are a bright, transparent red with a tint of pink. Wear to promote positivity, courage, and confidence.

June: pearl, moonstone and alexandrite

Pearls come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Wear to enhance personal integrity, focus, and faith.

Moonstones come in several colors but the most well-known is rainbow, which is a translucent white with iridescent flashes noticeable under different lighting.  Wear to promote intuition, calmness, and empathy.

Alexandrite is an extremely rare and expensive gem ($2,500 to $70,000 per carat.) It is characterized by its ability to change color – from green in daylight to purple-red at night under artificial light.  Wear to encourage romance, strengthen creativity and imagination.

May: emerald

So famous that a shade of green is named after it, emeralds of quality are rare and often more expensive than diamonds.

Wear to bring hope and abundance. It is also believed to be rejuvenating.

April: diamond

This gem is forever a woman’s best friend.  If you cannot afford diamonds, clear quartz and cubic zirconia are suitable substitutes.

Wearing diamonds helps attract focus, positivity, and happiness.

March: aquamarine

Aquamarine possesses a beautiful shade of blue – clear to opaque with a very pale hint of green. Wearing aquamarine enhances honesty, loyalty, and communication.

February: amethyst

One of the most well loved crystals in the world, amethyst is a transparent, light to dark purple. Wearing amethyst not only brings a cleansing and soothing effect to the body and soul, but intensifies wisdom and attracts wealth.

January: garnet

Commonly found in many parts of the world, garnet comes in a variety of colors. The most recognizable is a deep, burgundy red. Wearing garnet helps to regenerate the body, balance the spirit, and calms the mind.
