Susana And Jack Gindi Take Skin Care And Home Spa Pampering To A New Level.

The home spa experience is the ultimate in convenience, especially when you are doing your best to socially distance. Husband and wife team Susana and Jack Gindi have come up with an easy do-it-yourself solution in the Relumins skincare line. Avoiding animal testing, toxic heavy metals and other harmful ingredients, the Filipino-American, New Jersey-based couple have focused on tools and products for home pampering that won’t break the bank. Here’s some background on their skincare line and how to use it most effectively.

What is your philosophy when it comes to skincare and beauty?

How you feel on the inside, reflects how you feel on the outside. We focus on ways to brighten the skin and improve its condition, as well as ways to put vital nutrients back into the complexion. We are all about achieving a healthy, glowing complexion through nurturing the skin.

What are the special needs of Filipino skin? Are these similar to Asian needs?

Having radiant, bright, and healthy skin is a deep concern in Filipino culture as well as generally in Asian culture. Although, there are many different skin types and tones in Asia the way people care for their skin is by protecting their it from the harsh sun as well as treating the skin to brighten it and bring out a natural dewy glow.

Do you or your husband have a background in chemistry? How did you come up with the product formulas?

Jack’s background is in nutrition, especially regarding functional foods and dietary supplements. That is the reason that Relumins has become a leader in skin optimized nutrition.?  I grew up using certain products in the Philippines, but when I came to the United States, that quality was not available. That’s why we are producing our own lines.

The term “brightening” in some cultures refers to bleaching. What does brightening mean for your products?

Our products will never dangerously bleach your skin. Instead, they will help even out your complexion and illuminate its glow. We use safe, non-toxic alpha-arbutin, extracted from seaweed and the bearberry plant.

Can anyone use your home spa products? Is there any special instructions people should know about before purchasing?

It is always nice to go to the spa and pamper yourself but it’s even better to pamper yourself from the comfort of your own home. This range of products recreates everything from the ultimate facial to anti-aging treatments and brightening processes. All our home spa products and tools are designed for anyone to use. For example, the Derma Roller just needs slight pressure as you roll the device back and forth four times in four directions. We recommend anyone interested in the Derma Roller who is unsure about which needle size to choose start with the 0.50mm size.

What is the appeal of the home spa experience? Was there a gap in the market for these types of products?

The home spa was based on personal and professional experience. It began back when we were deciding how far to get involved with more aggressive peels for home use. The more powerful peels gave obvious results but more people experienced negative side effects. We wanted something effective but not risky. This naturally led us to research the most common side effects of more aggressive treatments,

For example, those wonderful chemical peels can cause hyperpigmentation, sun sensitivity, inflammation and possibly worse. Even people who get great looking results from a power peel often notice that their skin may become a bit shinier or waxy after each treatment. We were amazed to learn that this is a type of micro scarring.

That’s when the concept of home spa really took shape. As the idea progressed we decided that to be truly valuable, the treatment can be repeated safely with a higher frequency than more aggressive versions. Today we have peels, scrubs, micro-needle, LED, micro current, and more.

Can you explain how the Micro-current Electronic Face Massager works?

It is a solar-powered micro current beauty tool designed to tighten the skin on your face, neck, arms, and body. Its target areas include under-eye pouches, crow’s feet, wrinkles around the nose and mouth, chin skin, frown lines and improving the appearance of neck wrinkles. The tool is constructed from medical-grade aluminium with a refined copper core. The solar panel provides micro currents to stimulate the body’s tissue and help to tighten the skin.

Is the Glycolic Peeling Gel good for all skin types?

Yes. People with dry skin sometimes experience discoloration and hyper pigmentation and the gel can be used as spot treatment for those areas as well. it is very fast acting and the results are undeniable.

Is the Skin Perfecting Serum best for anti-aging? What ingredients make it effective?

It works for anti-aging but also corrects uneven skin tone. The formula contains lactic acid which is an effective skin exfoliator and moisturizer. Lactic acid helps in the reduction of the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while promoting skin firming and brightening. The serum also contains ingredients such as natural arbutin, vitamin complex, and alpha lipoic acid to help fade the appearance of age and liver spots, freckles, hyper-pigmentation, and other skin discolorations.

What does the LED Light Therapy tool do? Does is provide similar results to what would be done in a spa?

LED Light Therapy is used to treat acne, reduce scarring, delay the signs of aging, and more. But, lying on a light therapy bed can expensive, claustrophobic, and time-consuming. Our tool applies light therapy to the skin as you roll it over the desired area. It uses colour wavelengths of visible light that have specific skin benefits. It provides comparable spa results and tackles dark spots, acne, helps to maximize absorption of products and more.

How do the ingredients in the Under-Eye Serum work to improve skin? Do you recommend using it daily?

The Under-Eye Serum is uniquely formulated with clinically proven botanicals such as Brazilian ginseng, Muira puama, and Madonna lily to brighten dark, under-eye circles that can be caused by blood flow stagnation. Users see results within as little as 28 days. The Brazilian Botanical Blend has antioxidant properties that inhibit the release of inflammatory mediators that usually cause puffiness under the eye. We recommend using the serum twice daily.

Any last pieces of advice to achieve flawless skin?

Treat your skin like a plant and nourish it from the inside out. A plant can’t grow without water and nutrients, so make sure you’re drinking plenty of water, protect your skin from harsh sun rays, and hydrate with products that do not include harsh chemicals. Beauty from the inside will help keep that youthful glow through the years.
