About 21 km south of Bao Loc city, Linh Quy Phap An pagoda can be found at Hill 45, 4 Village, Loc Thanh, Bao Lam, Lam Dong. This is also where singer Son Tung-MTP performed his hit “Lac Troi.” This song and video has received huge interest from viewers all over Asia with 190 million views on YouTube, plus there are many cover versions including in Chinese and Korean. From this area there are signs for Linh Quy Phap An. This temple is located high in the mountains. The surroundings are quiet and covered by green forests and tea gardens.
Up on top of the hill, the first thing that attracts tourists is a unique Torii gate. Standing beside this gate, you can observe the scenery and natural views of Bao Loc. In the temple, there are three gates that are arranged around a stone yard and a wood fence is painted red to ensure the safety of tourists. Blending into the background, the gates are subtle and mysterious, reflecting the dignity and grandeur of this place. Standing at the foot of the gate, you can look at a picturesque hills and mountains that resemble a green velvet painting. The moment you set foot in the courtyard it feels like you are surrounded by vast sky and that you are just a tiny living creation on earth. This spacious courtyard is where the monks of the temple gather to pray early in the morning. Behind the ceremony house is a yard covered with white gravel, providing a sense of tranquility. This is also a quiet place suitable for meditation and contemplating Buddhist philosophies or enjoying the fresh air and temporarily forgetting the troubles of life.
Adjacent to the gravel yard is a crystal clear lake where you can see to the bottom. In the middle of the courtyard is a gentle Bodhisattva statue. All of these bring about a feeling of peace, serenity and lightness. Setting foot in the main ceremony house, the first feeling you get is coolness under your feet from the stone floor. There is not much furniture in the house, mainly simple items for worshiping. In the middle of the house is a Buddha statue carved from white stone. Simple decorative objects include worship vases and bronze gongs, on top of which are thin curtains.
Buddhists like to pray for peace and health for their families here, but Linh Quy Phap An is also a beautiful destination for selfies. Depending on the time of day, the scenery looks different. Sunset and sunrise are the most exceptional moments. In the early morning, this place is covered with mist. The clouds and the dew seem to blend together, giving tourists the feeling that they are walking on clouds. When the first ray of sun appears and lifts the cloud layer, drops of dew start to sparkle. At dusk, the waning light colours and washes the clouds with yellow. This scenery makes you want to slow down and lighten your load. It dispels the heavy burdens we carry on our shoulders. In late afternoon, the sun is hidden behind the mountain, leaving only a bright red at the end of the horizon.
